Congrats Ervin Santana!!

Ervin Santana hit a milestone, a No-Hitter. It has been a long while since this was achieved for the Angels. Santana was not shining bright. Since the big talk of  Jered Weaver and Dan Haren success this year. Today Santana is shining bright. Congrats and enjoy the attention. Its well deserved.

Replacement for Nolan Ryan 7/19- Autry Hall of Fame Cermony

Nolan Ryan is being hospitalized in Houston. And will not be able to throw the first pitch tomorrow. The Angels called on Angels Hall of Famers to take on the first pitch. Chuck Finley and Rod Carew will pitch to Bobby Grich and Brian Downing.
The Angels had to make this day special. They are inducting Gene Autry to the Angels Hall of Fame. Gene Autry was the original owner of the Angels. He brought this team from the minors to the majors. A true visionary. The Angels retired the number 26 (as the 26th man) in his honor. since there is only 25 on a roster. This will be a fun event to honor a great man.

Happy Birthday Torii!!!

Today we celebrate a birthday of Mr. Torii Hunter. He turns 36. Hunter is a fan favorite and one of the leaders of the Angels. Get some birthday cake today and get that bat swinging tomorrow!

Juan Rivera back in Cali

Juan Rivera back in California...but as a Dodger!  He was traded to the Blue Jays from the Angels. Now half way through the season, traded again. He will fit well in L.A. Once he gets going he is a huge threat. Its going to hard to see him in Blue. Juan had a lot of female followers (including my wife), this trade will make them happy to see him around again. Good luck Juan.

My Lucky Streak- Angels Signings

Once I left the Scioscia/ Trumbo signing. I headed to the stadium to get more autographs. I was on a lucky streak. I was the first one there but the pros came out in full force. They knew who drove what car, so that helped out to get something ready for them to sign. Hank Conger was the first one to sign, through a small hole in the bushes. Then Jordan Walden came out to sign, I asked him to put All-Star. He looked at me confused, but laughed because I reminded him that he was. He even posed for pictures. Mark Aadsma from Seattle also came out to sign. It was weird he was hanging out in the Angels parking lot. The Pros got Chone Figgins and Adam Kennedy at another entrance. They said one autograph is good but three is rare. I left very happy.
My day was not done. I went to a 66ers game to get the Dan Haren bobblehead. I had a great Saturday!

Recap of Scioscia/Trumbo signing

The line as far as the eye can see
Doug snapping away

Mike Scioscia
Mark Trumbo
I arrived around 6 in the morning to get a good spot. If you didn't get there before 7-7:30 the chances were getting slim. Since there was only one signing Saturday and Scioscia being a Dodger, the line grew by every passing minute. The Howards staff thought they had the line organized. Near the doors looked good but many stories of people taking cuts beyond that point. Also Howards never saved a spot for Scioscia and Trumbo. They cruised the parking lot to look for a spot. Mike Scioscia arrived 30 minutes late. I asked him why was he late. He said "I drove up and down looking for this place". I had trouble finding Howards myself. The Howards staff handed out water for people in line. They also hats and sock Rally Monkeys for the first 300. My son left the happiest from this event. He finally got the Rally Monkey. We couldn't make to the game to get it for him. Doug and Tony, thanks for making the wait fun. It was fun meeting up with good friends again. I had a blast!  See you on the next one.

Milestone for Bobby Abreu

A great milestone for Bobby Abreu in making his 1300th  R.B.I. This is huge, and show what talent the Angels have on their roster. Last year he played in the outfield but was moved to the D.H. this year. Which made out good. He can focus on hitting and putting the pressure on pitchers, by his base stealing. Congrats Bobby. And I know its not your last.

Update- Scioscia signing- Trumbo added

I have called Howards a couple of times to find out if there will be another player signing. I base the fact on every year Howards has two to three signers. This morning I heard a commercial and Mark Trumbo will also be there. Once again here is the info.
